Summon Bahamut

Saga Tribal Update : Final Fantasy

Update (Final Fantasy) :

With the release of Final Fantasy, Saga Tribal is getting an upgrade!

Summon: Bahamut costs a lot but it is one of the most powerful Summons. It works as a target removal at I and II, it let us draw two cards at III and it is an amazing finisher at IV. A top-tier card for our Saga Tribal.

Summon: Primal Odin is expensive but powerful as it removes target creature on ETB. It is a 5/3 Saga Knight that on II gains “Whenever this creature deals combat damage to a player, that player loses the game” so it can be a finisher. Last but not least, at III we draw two cards and each player loses 2 life. Amazing value over time and great synergy with our Saga Tribal.

Summon: Knights of Round costs a lot but it is one of the most powerful Summons. It is a 3/3 Saga Knight with Indestructible that is an amazing Knight Token creator, summoning three 2/2 Knight Tokens at I,II,III and IV, while at V it gives a temporary +2/+2 buff until end of turn to all other creatures we control but also an Indestructible counter on each of them. A top-tier card for our Saga Tribal.

Terra, Magical Adept is a powerful Legendary creature that comes with a mini tutor effect on ETB but her real power comes from her transformation. By paying , we can tranform her into Esper Terra, a powerful 6/6 Saga Wizard with Flying that can copy our Sagas with Haste and put up to three Lore counters on them at I, II and III (but they are sacrificed at the beggining of our next end step), while it can produce a ton of mana at IV. A must-have card for our Saga Tribal.

Summon: Yojimbo is another powerful Summon. It works as a target removal at I, as a Ghostly prison effect at II and III, while it acts as ramp at IV creating X Treasure tokens, where X is the number of opponents who control a creature with power 4 or greater. At the same time it has a 5/5 body and Vigilance. A top-tier card for our Saga Tribal.

Garnet, Princess of Alexandria is a great addition for any Saga Tribal. On attack trigger we may remove a lore counter from each of any number of Sagas we control and put a +1/+1 counter on Garnet for each lore counter removed this way. She can be a very valuable card for our counter manipulation strategy.

Summon: Fenrir is an ideal ramp spell for Saga Tribal because it has similar utility to Rampant Growth (which is a top staple) at I, while its other abilities are less relevant, but also useful. What makes it so important is that it is a Saga, so it can be recurred and/or counter manipulated to provide repeatable ramp.

Summon: Titan is another powerful Summon. With a 7/7 body and Trample and Reach, it poses a serious threat, while it can act as ramp by milling five cards at I and returning all land cards from our graveyard to the battlefield tapped at II. In addition, at III, it can buff another target creature we control with Trample and +X/+X, where X is the number of lands we control. A great addition to our Saga Tribal.

Summon: Valefor is a Saga Drake that can greatly help us with control. At I it acts as target removal – each opponent chooses a creature with the greatest mana value among creatures they control and we return those creatures to their owners’ hands. At II, III and IV it let us tap up to one target creature and put a stun counter on it. Add to all that a 5/4 body with Flying and we can see how much value we can get from it. A great addition to our Saga Tribal.

O’aka, Traveling Merchant is a card that can greatly help us with counter manipulation while at the same time it help us with card draw. By and removing a counter from a nonland permanent we control, we draw a card. A great utility card for our Saga Tribal.

Summon: Kujata is another great summon. With a 7/5 body, Trample and Haste, it is alone a serious threat. At I, it deals 3 damage to each of up to two target creatures, at II it makes up to three target creatures unable to block this turn and at III it let us loot and it deals damage equal to the discarded card’s mana value to each opponent. A great card for our Saga Tribal.

Yuna, Hope of Spira works wonders with our Saga Tribal. During our turn, Yuna and enchantment creatures we control have Trample, Lifelink, and Ward which is great for supporting both offence and defence. Moreover, she acts as a top repeatable Enchantment recursion tool, as at the beginning of our end step we return up to one target enchantment card from our graveyard to the battlefield with a finality counter on it. A must-have card for our Saga Tribal.

Summon: Ixion is a cheap summon that can give us nice value. At I if acts as a temporary target removal, while at II and III it let us put a +1/+1 counter on each of up to two target creatures we control and we gain 2 life. A great addition to our Saga Tribal.

Rydia, Summoner of Mist provide us with looting on Landfall. Moreover, by paying , at sorcery speed, we return target Saga card with mana value X from our graveyard to the battlefield with a finality counter on it and it gains haste until end of turn. A great Saga recursion tool for our Saga Tribal.

Summon: Good King Mog XII is a Summon that help us summon more Moogle creature tokens with Lifelink at I, II and III, while at IV it buffs other Moogles with two +1/+1 counters. With Flying, Lifelink and a 4/4 body, it is a card that can help us with board presence.

Clash of the Eikons is a card made for Saga Tribal. With just one green mana, we can use one or more modes which include lore counters manipulation and target removal (fight). A must-have card for our build.

Summon: Leviathan is a board wipe returning each creature that isn’t a Kraken, Leviathan, Merfolk, Octopus, or Serpent to its owner’s hand. That wipe comes with a 6/6 Saga Leviathan Enchantment Creature with ward that on II and III may draw us a card by attacking. What makes it important is that it is a Saga, so it can be recurred and/or counter manipulated to provide repeatable board wipe if needed.
