Knight Tribal Update : Modern Horizons 3

With the release of Modern Horizons 3 , Knight Tribal is getting some upgrades! We include some bonus upgrades too!

In: Westfold Rider , Out: Grey Knight Paragon

Arna Kennerüd, Skycaptain is a great utility card that serves many purposes. It is a counter doubler and an Equipment/Aura doubler. In our Knight Tribal it is not optimal, but it has great synergy with our cards that spread +1/+1 counters like Skyhunter Strike Force, Exsanguinator Cavalry and Vodalian Wave-Knight. With Ward-Discard a card it punishes our opponents for targeting her, while with Flying and Lifelink on a 4/4 body she is a nice target for our double strike givers.

Thistledown Liege gets cut because our deck has not enough Knights to get the double buff so it is not optimal for our build.

White Orchid Phantom on ETB destroys up to one target nonbasic land, while its controller may fetch from thier library a basic land tapped in its place. It is good for shutting down powerful landsand a great recursion target for Sidar Jabari of Zhalfir as we can get repeatable removal. Having Flying and First Strike makes it even better. A great inclusion for our Knight Tribal build.

Liliana’s Standard Bearer gets cut because it is not optimal in our deck as it works better in decks where you can easily kill/sacrifice your own creatures like zombie decks and in our build we can spare some card draw for removal.

Werefox Bodyguard on ETB exiles a non-Fox creature until it leaves the battlefield. It is a good recursion target for Sidar Jabari of Zhalfir as we can get instant value. Having Flash makes it even better. A nice inclusion for our Knight Tribal build.

Blacklance Paragon gets cut because although it can be a nice one-time removal, its ETB does not work well with Sidar Jabari of Zhalfir.

Westfold Rider can sacrifice itself to destroy target artifact or enchantment. It can be activated only as a sorcery which makes it less powerful, but it can be a repeatable removal tool and a great recursion target for Sidar Jabari of Zhalfir as we can get value the same turn it enters the battlefield. (either on our main phase if we cast it, or on our second main phase if we recur it with our commander).

Grey Knight Paragon gets cut because is expensive and it does not work well as a reanimation target with Sidar Jabari of Zhalfir as on ETB it destroys target attacking creature, while Sidar recurs it after the combat damage is dealt.
