Update : Final Fantasy
With the release of Final Fantasy, Merfolk Tribal is getting an upgrade!
In: Summon: Leviathan , Out: River’s Rebuke
Summon: Leviathan has great synergy with our Merfolk Tribal as at I it becomes an one-sided wipe by returning each creature that isn’t a Kraken, Leviathan, Merfolk, Octopus, or Serpent to its owner’s hand. That wipe comes with a 6/6 Saga Leviathan Enchantment Creature with ward
that on II and III may draw us a card by simply attacking. Even if the summon will vanish after three turns, the value we get is amazing.
River’s Rebuke gets cut because it targets only one player, while Summon: Leviathan affects all players (while leaving our Merfolk intact). Of course, River’s Rebuke affects nonland permanents while Summon: Leviathan only creatures, but the overall value of Summon: Leviathan is much greater.
